Mr Chan Wei Shing

Mr Chan Wei Shing is a Singaporean cellist, conductor, and music educator whose career spans orchestral performance, chamber music, opera, and ensemble leadership.

After early success at Singapore’s National Music Competition and as Principal Cellist of the Singapore Youth Orchestra, he trained in Austria at the University of Music in Vienna and the University of Music in Graz. He graduated in 1996 with a Master of Arts specialising in Cello Performance and performed widely across Europe.

Since returning to Singapore, Mr Chan has remained active as an orchestral and chamber musician, including as a member of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, while directing and mentoring young musicians. At NTUSO, he brings decades of performance and teaching experience to developing disciplined, expressive ensemble playing.
